Day 1 ~ Santiago – Calama

International flight arrival in Santiago, Chile (overnight flights arrive early morning).  Connect to a domestic flight to Calama – afternoon arrival and transfer to your hotel.

Days 2 & 3 ~ Exploring the Atacama Desert

Discover a mystical place of quiet avenues and adobe architecture where time stands still and visitors enjoy moments of calm reflection at the edge of the salt flats of the world’s driest desert. From the canopy of uninterrupted sky to the majestic landscape extending for hundreds of kilometers, it is beauty in its simplest form.

Day 4 ~ Santiago

Personal transfer from the hotel to the Calama airport for a flight to Santiago.  Dinner and overnight in Santiago.

Day 5 ~ Easter Island

Continue your adventure with a morning flight to Easter Island (flight time is approximately 3.5 hours)

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a representative and transferred to a deluxe lodge offering stunning views and top-not service as you explore this interesting place.

Suggested Accommodations:   Hangaroa Eco Village & Spa – all inclusive 3 Night / 4 Day program.  Upon arrival, enjoy a walking guided tour of the village of Hangaroa OR a relaxation massage in the Manavai spa.  Settle in to your spacious accommodations for a comfortable rest.

Days 6 & 7 ~  Exploring Rapa Nui

Daily explorations with English speaking guides together with other hotel guests.  Each day you will have the opportunity to choose between one full-day or two half-day excursions or a spa treatment.

Day 8 ~  Santiago

Depart from Easter Island on an afternoon flight to Santiago.  Personal transfer to your hotel and overnight in Santiago.

Day 9 ~ Puerto Montt – Puerto Varas

Personal transfer to the airport for a domestic flight down to Puerto Montt.   Upon arrival in Puerto Montt, you will be greeted by your private guide who will transfer you to Puerto Varas, approximately 30 minutes drive.  This area is the gateway to Patagonia and often referred to as the “lakes district”.

Suggested Accommodations:  Hotel Cumbres.   Spend 2 nights overlooking Lake Llanquihue and the Osorno volcano in this charming village.  The European style of Puerto Varas invites you to explore the city on foot and Hotel Cumbres is just a short walk along the lake-view sidewalk to downtown.

Day 10 ~  Full Day Petrohue & Osorno Volcano excursion

On this delightful guided excursion you will head towards the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park. Along the way you will make a variety of small stops including: Mirador Los Riscos (a beautiful lookout point featuring the Osorno Volcano) and Mirador Onces Bellavista (a nice spot to observe llamas, deer and emus). Once inside the park, you will pass a lagoon which is home to the famous Torrent duck.  Then continue on to the Petrohue River and the Petrohue Waterfalls. Here you will have plenty of time to explore your surroundings and take beautiful pictures. Continuing up the path, arriving to the Todos Los Santos Lake where we will take a 30 minute boat ride across the emerald water. The navigation will take you to the town of Ensenada where you will approach the Osorno Volcano. Depending on weather conditions your trek and visit can include lakes, craters, a ski center and/or a nearby restaurant.  Enjoy some free time for lunch and return back to your hotel in the late afternoon.

 

Day 11 ~ Punta Arenas

Private transfer to the airport for domestic flight to Punta Arenas.
Transfer to your hotel, centrally located in Punta Arenas, in the southernmost region along the Strait of Magellan.

Suggested Accommodations:  Hotel Cabo de Hornos.  Spend 2 nights in the charming, historic square in Punta Arenas.

Day 12 ~ Magdalena Island

Pick up at your hotel and drive to the embarkation pier of the Magdalena Islands tour. MAGDALENA ISLAND: “LOS PINGUINOS NATURAL MONUMENT. This wildlife area was declared a National Park in 1966 and re-classified a natural monument in 1982. Its objective is to protect the avifauna of the island, such us, Magellanic penguins, cormorant and sea gulls, among others. This island constitutes one of the largest penguin colonies in Chile, with a population estimated in more than 50.000 pairs of Magellanic Penguins (Sphenicus Magallanicus), which is more than 95% bird life bio-mass in the area.

Magdalena Island is located in the center of the Strait of Magellan, 35 kilometers north of the City of Punta Arenas, and the excursion itself begins through the waters of the mythical Strait for two and a half hours, cutting through the same navigation route of the most daring explorers in the world, such as, Sir Francis Drake, Pedro Sarmiento de Gamboa, Hernando de Magallanes and Charles Darwin. Upon arrival, you will walk through thousands of penguins that will greet you. The trail leads to the light house, from where you have a great panoramic view.

Continue your journey through Patagonia to Torres del Paine National Park.   Spend 4 nights here, exploring this pristine place found in the heart of Chilean Patagonia.

Day 13 & 14 ~  Torres del Paine

Spend the next two days exploring this natural wonderland.  UNESCO declared it as a biosphere reserve due to the clean waters that form glaciers, lagoons and waterfalls, and the unique flora and fauna.

Optional tour excursions include activities such as:  Hiking and trekking,  Horseback riding, Scenic voyages, and Fishing.

Day 15 ~ Departure

Personal transfer to the Punta Arenas airport for flight to Santiago.  Then, International overnight flights home.
