COSTA RICA HIGHLIGHTS
Day 1 Travel from your home city to San Jose, Costa Rica. Greeting on arrival by your private driver for the 2 ½ hr. trip to the Arenal Volcano area and your 2 night stay at Arenal Observatory Lodge. This unique lodge is perched high on a ridge in a private nature reserve, with stunning views of the volcano. Enjoy the evening at the lodge or visit the nearby hot springs.

 
Day 2 Today choose from the activities and tours offered such as: hiking the trails surrounding the property, a canopy tour, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, bird watching, hanging bridges, or whitewater rafting. Overnight at Observatory Lodge.
 
Day 3-4 Transfer from Arenal to Monteverde Cloudforest by boat and land. This service, half tour - half transfer (not private) is a scenic, faster way to go from La Fortuna (Arenal Volcano Area), to the Monteverde area. Pick up from the hotels in La Fortuna for a 30 minute drive to the Arenal Lake Dam. There you will board comfortable pontoon boat for a 30 to 40 minute ride to Río Chiquito, a little town at the other side of the lake. Once at Río Chiquito, take a 1 ½ hour ride to get to the hotels in the Monteverde area.

El Establo Mountain Hotel. 2 nights This mountain lodge set on 150 acres, adjacent to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, offers a restaurant with national and international cuisine, 2 swimming pools, tennis, basketball and soccer courts, and gym. Tours available include hiking in Monteverde Reserve, Canopy tour, and Canopy suspension bridges.
 
Day 5-8 Travel with your private driver from Monteverde to Manuel Antonio National Park. Spend the next 4 nights at the El Parador Resort and Spa. This Mediterranean elegant hillside resort is located in Manuel Antonio, on the Pacific, within minutes of Manuel Antonio National Park and the town of Quepos. During your stay enjoy the pools, tennis court, and fitness center. You'll find a full service restaurant and casual dinner restaurant, both with spectacular views.

Choose from the varied optional tours available here including hiking in Manuel Antonio National Park, mangrove tours, sea kayaking, sport fishing, dolphin watch, horseback riding, and a sunset sail.
 
Day 9 Transfer to the domestic airport at Quepos and fly to San Jose Transfer to the international terminal for your flight home.
 

 

EXPERIENCE THE RAINFOREST

Day 3 Depart with your private driver to San Jose and board your flight to Puerto Jimenez. Transfer from Puerto Jimenez to Lapa Rios Lodge. 5 Day / 4 Night Package at Lapa Rios This beautiful eco-lodge is set 350 ft. above sea level in a 1000 acre private nature reserve overlooking the point where the Golfo Dulce meets the wild Pacific Ocean in the southwestern part of the country. Your stay here includes meals, and a guided tour into the Lapa Rios Nature Reserve. Optional activities include rainforest walks, bird watching, ocean kayaking, horseback riding, sport fishing, surfing, yoga classes, and a tour to Corcovado National Park.

 
Day 7 Fly from Puerto Jimenez to San Jose. Transfer to your hotel, Xandari Resort & Spa. The resort is nestled on a 40 acre plantation overlooking the Central Valley of San Jose, 20 minutes from the international airport. Spend the balance of the day enjoying the amenities and grounds of this boutique hotel.

 
Day 8 Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
 
WHITE WATER RAFTING AND BEACH
Day 1 Arrival in San Jose, transfer to hotel and overnight
 
Day 2 Early morning pick-up at your hotel for the transfer (approximately 2½ hours) to the Pacuare River put-in, including a typical Costa Rican breakfast enroute.

Experience an exciting 1-1½ hour river rafting tour to the Pacuare Lodge (class II-III rapids) where you will enjoy an overnight stay. The Pacuare Lodge lies on the banks of the Pacuare River surrounded by lush rainforest. The Pacuare Lodge's philosophy of simplistic luxury and oneness with nature is enhanced by the romance of operating without electricity. The distinctive palm-thatched bungalows and suites are carefully designed to blend into the surrounding forest. After lunch at the lodge, join in an optional canopy tour, waterfall hike, or simply relax. Dine by candlelight and overnight.
 
Day 3 After breakfast you will depart by raft for an even more fun-filled day of white water rafting, including a delicious picnic lunch along the river. At the river take-out you will have a chance to change before being transferred back to your hotel in San Jose in time for dinner. Overnight in San Jose.
 
Day 4-7 Today you will be transferred by your private driver to the Guanacaste region on the north Pacific coast, an approximate 4 ½ hour drive.

Spend 4 nights at the Occidental Grand Papagayo, a deluxe all- inclusive resort. Rooms here feature private balconies or terraces with views of the ocean or lush tropical gardens. Your stay includes meals, use of the indoor tennis court, and non-motorized water sports. Choose from 3 restaurants and bars, and enjoy the live evening entertainment.
 
Day 8 Transfer 35 minutes to the Liberia airport for your international flight.
