BELIZE

BRAZIL
The Amazon jungle is the world's largest tropical rainforest, and most of its area is located within Brazil. This jungle region covers the entire northern portion, at least a third of the country. Traveling from the gateway of Manaus, you can stay at a number of jungle lodges, allowing you to explore the most biodiverse place on Earth.
Iguazu Falls also offers visitors an opportunity to hike the trails of the surrounding rainforest combined with visiting the largest falls in the world. No trip to Brazil is complete without a stop at one of the natural wonders of the world. And no trip to the Falls is complete without visiting the both sides, the Brazilian and the Argentinean.

COSTA
RICA
More than a quarter of Costa Rica's total land area is comprised of national parks, biological reserves and wildlife refuges. Costa Rica is unique in the number, size and variety of their tropical forests. Home to Dry Tropical Forests on the North Pacific, Transitional Forests on the Central Pacific, Cloud Forests in the mountains and Tropical Forests on the Caribbean and South Pacific coasts, Costa Rica has an astonishing variety of ecosystems as well as lodging and tours to accommodate those wanting to explore what Costa Rica is famous for. |
ECUADOR
One third of Ecuador consists of Amazon rainforest. The eastern jungle is often referred to as the Oriente ("The East") by the locals. Much of this area can only be reached by air and motorized canoes. If you are looking for adventure, walking through the forests and spending time with the native people, this region is for you.
There are a number of national parks and reserves in this area as well as a variety of accommodations for the adventurous traveler.

PANAMA
The Panama Canal rainforests are the most accessible in the world. Located just minutes from Panama City, Soberania National Park has an outstanding array of wildlife including several species of monkeys, sloths, birds and butterflies.
The tropical rainforest of the Darien National Park was declared a Biosphere Reserve of Humankind by UNESCO in 1981. The Darien region is diverse and includes mangrove forests, lowland forests and cloud forest.
Some of the Embera Indian families of the Darien region have migrated in recent years to the Chagras River area, less than an hour and a half from Panama City. It is now possible to easily visit a village and experience the customs and culture of the Embera in this rainforest environment.

PERU
Peru is yet another country hosting a portion of the Amazon region, in fact the Amazon River originates in Peru. Iquitos, Peru is the gateway to the Peruvian Amazon. Peru has some of the Amazon region's most comfortable lodges offering visitors guided activities such as piranha fishing, hiking, and a chance to walk the world's longest canopy walkway transporting visitors 120 feet into a treetop world.
The Southern jungle includes Tambopata Reserve and a number of easily reached jungle lodges and combines well with a trip to Machu Picchu and Cuzco.
