ARGENTINA
Experience premium fly fishing for brown, rainbow and brook trout in northern Patagonia around Bariloche in the Lakes Region. Landlocked Atlantic salmon, which reach impressive sizes, are also found in this region. (Nov.-Apr.)
Corrientes province is an international fishing destination for dorado from July to September.
Tierra del Fuego is famous for sea-run and brown trout from November to April.

BELIZE
What sets Belize apart from other productive destinations is its amazing diversity 12 months a year. Cast for bonefish, permit and tarpon along tidal flats and mangroves.
Mangrove, mutton and yellowtail snapper can be found inside the barrier reef, whilesnapper, grouper, jacks and barracuda swim in the deeper waters outside the reef. Black grouper are targeted from December to April.
Most offshore fishing takes place during tournament season, when anglers set their sights on kingfish, dorado, wahoo, tuna and occasional sailfish or blue marlin.
River tarpon and snook are found in the numerous rivers and streams.

COSTA
RICA
If you want to catch sailfish all day long, travel to Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, on the Pacific side, between January and April. Between May and November, fishing for billfish is stronger on the northern Pacific coast of Guanacaste. Dorado, wahoo, jacks, mackerel, roosterfish, tuna and a host of other species can also be found up and down the Pacific coast.
On the northern Caribbean coast, record tarpon and snook can be caught year-round. From late November through January, the area enjoys a run of smaller snook called calba.
For the freshwater angler, Lake Arenal and many of the rivers provide outstanding action on rainbow bass (guapote).

CHILE
The Lakes District of Chilean Patagonia is the place to fish for migrating Silver and King Salmon and Steelhead as well as resident brown trout between November and April. During this time of year, trophy fish can be caught in the many rivers, lakes and lagoons
in the region. Take a day trip from Puerto Varas or stay at one of the many fishing lodges nearby or around the towns of Balmaceda or Chaiten.

PANAMA
Because the waters off the Pacific coast of Panama are so virgin and remote that fish are everywhere, Panama fishing is considered by many to be the best in the world. Although it is possible to catch fish all year-round in Panama, some people identify prime time marlin fishing with the months of December-March. The Hannibal Banks are world renowned for monster marlin, giant yellowfin tuna, exciting sailfish, wahoo, dorado, jacks, roosterfish and cubera snapper. |
