Quito, a sophisticated city, rich in colonial art and architecture, is the
political and financial capital of Ecuador.
Heading south from Quito, along the Avenue of the Volcanoes, you will find
dozens of small colorful villages between the cities of Ambato, Riobamba,
and Cuenca, each with its own beauty and style. The incredible scenery
will amaze you as you travel through these quaint villages. To the west,
you will see the snow-capped mountains of Chimborazo, Illinizas and
Carihuairayo. To the east, you will see Cotopaxi, Antisana, and Saugay.
