Tortuguero National Park protects a unique series of natural inland waterways that are home to freshwater turtles, crocodiles, sloth, monkeys, toucans, oropendolas, parrots, butterflies, and numerous other species. Tortuguero is the largest nesting area in the Caribbean for the green sea turtle (July-September). |
| Most lodges offer boat tours through the various canals and the turtle tour (in season), all which are included in your package. In addition, this part of the Caribbean is known as one of the world’s richest fishing grounds for tarpon and snook. | |
