Monteverde

Monteverde was founded only 45 years ago by a group of American Quakers. It is a community as well as a biological reserve and is a major destination for nature lovers. This beautiful cloud forest’s only drawback is its accessibility.

There is only one route to Monteverde from San Jose, which includes a 2-hour bumpy ride up the mountain on an unpaved road.
